Booking Information
We offer a wide variety of components that could make up a show, but to help out, below is a list of our most common show formats.
-
Basic Arena Based Event - One, two or three combat set-pieces which could contain any or all of the following:
- Fashion Show & Circle - A look at the clothes, weapons and armour of the viking age followed by a training exercise called the Circle, a fight of honour where only one combatant can win.
- Drill - and other training exercises to demonstrate Dark Age tactics and discipline.
- Pitched battle between two opposing sides (Usually a contingent of Vikings Vs Saxons, but can be tailored to the clients needs).
- Full Rolling Scenario - a unique representation of history that follows an adapted historical narrative that continues a common theme throughout the day in an event. This kind of event can (and most likely will) involve combat.
- Short Acted Scene - perhaps for a night performance or a small side event at a larger show, this type of performance could include a small rolling scenario, like a Viking Holmganga and Funeral Pyre (As seen at Tutbury Castle, November 2004). For events such as a Bonfire Night Performance, this format is especially effective and we can arrange fireworks to complement the Pyre.
All of the above are supplemented by a Living History Village as required and may contain Special Effects, tailored to the clients wishes.
Extra features may also be added, such as a Siege Wall that can be constructed to fit in with the chosen scenario, or Horses courtesy of the Icelandic Horse Society, where space and time allow. To add another dimension to an event we can also display our Boat, "Ratatosk" (a Seksarring), showing the Naval aspects of the Viking Era.
